Bisousweet Confections,

Owner

Karen Collins is a self-taught pastry chef who founded Bisousweet Confections in her home kitchen in 2005. She landed her first wholesale customer in 2009, pivoted her business strategy, and focused on building a wholesale business. Bisousweet currently sells made-from-scratch, all natural baked goods to supermarket chains and independent retailers on the eastern seaboard, the south west, and along the west coast.

Karen is committed to giving back to her community, fundraising for cancer research and treatment, and mentoring others. She has been a member of her local United Way board for six years, one year serving as President. This summer will be her 16th year cycling in the PMC. She is the co-captain of her team and has raised $164,000 for Dana Farber to date. She furthered her fundraising for Dana Farber in 2021 with her first (and last) marathon. She has been a mentor for three years with the Santander Cultivate Small Business mentorship program offered by The Commonwealth Kitchen and has worked to help support the efforts of 5 fellow female entrepreneurs.

Outside of work, Karen loves spending time with her family, playing with her four dogs, caring for her houseplants, writing, and dreaming of the ocean.
